A passport acceptance facility is a government office that authenticates and verifies your identity for a new application. These are commonly but not limited to post offices, public libraries and clerks of court. It is mandatory to appear in person in order to have the application approved for processing. All acceptance facilities have a processing fee of $35 for their services.
Anyone applying for a new passport application via a DS-11 Form must appear in person. The form can not be signed until instructed directly by the acceptance agent. Parents and children must both be present for a child’s application. See below a list of who must visit and who does not:
